Physics riddle.

You are in a boat in a pool, pool is filled with water to some level.

Boat is floating.

In the boat with you is a large rock.

You place the rock into the water (assume no splashing and no transfer of water onto you or onto or into the boat) and let it go and it sinks to the bottom.

What happens to the water level in the pool when you do this?

Without knowing the density of the rock, it is uncertain. If it were super-dense, it wouldn't displace much water, but the resulting net weight of the boat would change relative to its displacement. If it had a very low density, it could displace more water than the boat's average displacement as long as it had a density more than water.
