#HowTo Post a Thread on CounterSocial: A (Brief) Thread
Posts on CoSo are limited to 500 characters, but sometimes you might need to share something that's a bit longer. No worries! That's what threads are for.
Be sure to include relevant hashtags in the *first* post to help people find it. Only the first post will show up in the Community Firehose feed, so this is your chance to tell us what the rest of the thread will be about.
This thread is about threads.
Replying to yourself like this keeps everything linked together so that readers can enjoy the full context of what you're sharing.
Otherwise it would just be a bunch of disjointed posts, and we'd be lost.

At one point @th3j35t3r was working on something that would auto-thread posts, without having to break them up yourself. Not sure how close that is to production.
That feature is working in simplified mode. 👍
Next to the post button in the post composer there's a 'plus' symbol. Click that and it will add another compose box for your text. Then when you hit 'post' - they'll all be auto threaded for you and posted simultaneoulsy.

Yes, it's very useful. That's when I'll switch to Simplified. Otherwise, I like the power of Advanced.
Keep an eye on the character counter at the bottom right of the post box. As it counts down to 0, you'll need to find a natural place to break up the thread.
When you're ready to add to the thread, just reply to your post.
