I'm getting whiplash from the RW reactions to drag queens on Twitter.
Some hate 'em as "groomers" and think they should die gruesome deaths. The others think that the drag queen who performed at the Stagecoach country western festival (Coachella Valley) Friday night was phenomenally good.
@jjmacnab This is definitely not your daddy's country western music nor festival that also features rap artist Nelly
Etheridge and 2/3 ZZ are country?
@InUnfunky ZZ Top has a long history of mixing southern rock with country. https://countryrebel.com/5-of-zz-tops-best-country-music-collaborations/
@jjmacnab oh I know, I just prefer to not think about it. 😆
To me, ZZ was more interesting when the genre-blending was a bit more Tejano-ish AND weird ('70-'80), the country element being probably the least represented in those tunes. But good on the festival peeps being a bit more diverse...
Speaking of -- I heard some "modern country" the other day (at the mechanic's, natch) and was shocked at how obvious a blend of Def Leppard, RHCP, Pearl Jam, even rap it was. Melting pot! lol
@jjmacnab
I thought everyone loved drag?😉
🤦🏻♀️My bad...I think it's the BEST entertainment!
The Stagecoach line-up.
