History is the non-stop march of humanity becoming more and more progressive. It is the conservative embrace of tradition and established order that condemns conservatism to forever remain focused on the status quo as they forever wage war on the inevitable approach of the future
@jasonpaisley Things in society will only get more #progressive if a critical mass of individuals make it their actionable bussiness to make sure that happens. There is nothing inevitable about the are of history. It could easily go very dark for humans.
@AdreanaInLB it is because people always take action. Eventually they do. There are moments of darkness but because people gather their senses and act we have always risen from that darkness. Our humanity eventually compels us to do that which is just given time.
@jasonpaisley I very much like this sentiment. I just wish that it was true. There is NOTHING "march" about Progress. There have been backsliders and turns - the rise of nationalism and authoritarianism around the world right now is one such backslide. I am concerned about promoting the sentiment that progressivism is a march. That makes it sound as if things in society will get more #progressive whether a not I, as an individual take action.
