I as so confused by Mastodon, I know CoSo isn't officially part of Mastodon but please explain Mastodon to me like I"m 5. 1st off, do I need to make a separate account for every Mastodon server?
No. You make an account on SOME server, and it's (theoretically) "federated" with all the OTHER Mastodon servers out there.
I can't speak to how well, or not, any of this actually works in practice.
We're not Mastodon. We "federate" with no site.

I made an account on jazzodon (not even sure how I ended up there), but other servers wouldn't let me use that info to log in. Made another account on Mapsodon, which does appear to be "federated" I guess, cause now I see links to a bunch of other servers I can join.
