If I get a 6 inch faceplate for the lathe and stick a glue backed sandpaper disc on it, will I be able to use my lathe as a disc sander? 🤔 Need a disc sander for a project and it's ♾️ cheaper to convert the lathe over somehow than to go out and buy a working disc sander. 🤷‍♂️

@Brisse I think it would work, as long as you can run it slow enough

@ibid The lowest speed on my lathe is 250rpm highest is 4750rpm (because it hit a new high score the other day) 😂... most disc sanders are around 1000-2000rpm 🤔 that's why I think it'd be fine. I only need it for 1 project, I don't want to spend the money 💸 when I already have a lathe that works as a drill press, pen press, lathe, and much more things. 😂

@ibid My lathe even has an attachment that turns it into a grinder 😂 though I don't own that yet. In the manual it advertised a disc sander attachment but I don't think it ever made it to market.
