good morning everyone 🙏🏻✌🏽👍🏼
"it is important to remember that a myth is a metaphor for something unknown at the conscious level."
"nature is a process with one main overlying meta-pattern. All stable patterns in nature contain a balance of forces, a kind of reconciliation of opposites.
One of the more beautiful ways to understand this concept of dinergy is to look at the pattern formations on the surface of seashells."

"The concept of two-one-ness is the root of mathematical thought and ultimately responsible for the discovery of the binary basis of nature.
The fact that the human mind developed the ability to discriminate clearly shows that the number 2 has a different meaning than the number 1.
However, the ability to consciously understand the implications of this occurred much later than its silent awareness as manifested in myth."
"The ancient Chinese divided their cosmos into a twofold rhythm, a reciprocal enantiodromia of yin and yang.
the yin–yang motion is a symphony of alternating rhythms, where spatial elements (to and fro) and temporal elements (before and after) are space-time and not separate from one another.
They create this two-oneness. The rhythm is the third.
In the I Ching, “the powers confront one another but they do not conflict.” they counterbalance one another in a symmetrical double movement".
the importance of 3 in the human brain.
"One of the most fascinating discoveries about the brain is that our two hemispheres normally function as complementary opposites through the corpus callosum.
However, if the corpus callosum is divided, that third connecting principle is lost and the hemispheres can actually demonstrate competing interests."
@holon42 I have a functioning corpus callossum, and I'm often of two minds.
there are no guarantees that a common zone will necessarily promote peace. that's what consciousness is for, to bring the power of 3 to bear. it just means peace is possible .
I’m really enjoying reading this, thank you. Probably irrelevant but what this brings to me is work in therapy. As rudimentary sensing begins, we find ourselves wet-dry, hungry-full, safe-not safe, giving rise to the development of the ego. The power of 3 would be the authentic self that surpasses the ego’s reality in duality. “That’s what consciousness is for, to bring the power of 3 to bear” deeply resonates with the goal of discovering & living from authenticity.
yes, that's the idea, totally relevant. it's a principle applicable on many levels and throughout the universe.
Yes, we are vast. And in that vastness there are so many interesting relationships, sacred geometries, expansion-contraction.
I like how you put it, “we are vast.”
re: sacred geometries.
i have a construction of one of them, which permits exploring the pattern in 3 dimensions.
i imagine that this is what we call "matter: force fields, shields as it were, preventing patterns from simply flowing into one another.
illustrated by this construction. it's fascinating to play with.
it depends on your viewpoint. it's always a perfectly geometrical structure when examined from all sides.
more meaning in metaphor 🤫
the universe loves to do that to us
Isn’t that the truth?
I still marvel over walking sticks, aardvarks, crystalline formations (Platonic Solids, get your Platonic Solids here!), waves!
