I don't understand the big deal here. We were calling it Taxachusetts when I was stationed there in the 1980s, for Pete's sake ... and the name probably goes back even further than that, I'm sure.
But the NY Compost treats it as if it's never been said before anywhere in the world. Typical for a branch of the National Enquirer.
