What they are, is fucking creepy. Creepy is the best descriptor as opposed to weird. There is no mistaking creepy for anything positive.

Weird originally meant a person or place or thing that followed a different fate, or had a different sort of purpose than others.
It wasn't necessarily good or bad, it was just that some people had a normal weird, and others had a different weird that most.
