Just quit smoking cold turkey. I'm about to have like two hours of sleep a night for the next month.
@elbutterfield Thanks. I know I can, I've done it before. It just gets harder to do as time goes on. I'm quitting cold turkey after 12 years. (minus like a month I quit back when I was just out of hs) It kills my need for sleep when I quit, so I wind up with 2-3 hours of sleep and feel fine. I'll take that over the 200 bucks I spend on it a month.
@glassramen Your lungs are clearing as we speak...
@elbutterfield Ah yes. The purge begins, and in a few days I'll breathe much easier.
@glassramen Stay strong! ✊
Hang in there....you can do it.
Don’t give in. After two weeks of cold turkey, your physical addiction will be over. Then it’s a mental game. You can do this. Distract yourself.
Over 25 years for me. Don’t even remember the date or year. It’s not easy but it’s the best decision I ever made.
@LnzyHou I read it was 3 days for physical and two weeks for mental. That was like ten years ago though so maybe they did more research and the numbers changed. In any case I'll get through it. Appreciate the kind words.
You could be right 2 or 3 weeks. The secret is no input of nicotine whatsoever. No patches, no gum, no drugs. The sooner your body can be rid of the drug, the faster it can start healing.
The cost alone would stop me cold turkey. I see homeless people smoking and begging for $ to eat.
Chose life and health. You’re worth it.
@glassramen yay 😁 you can do it!
@glassramen Starred for the quitting, not for the lack of sleep. Congratulations! You can do it!
