Curious about the history of Victory Gardens in the U.S., this piece from the National Park Service captured my attention. Worthwhile reading. Special historical note re: Japanese-American internment. OTD (Nov. 10) in 1945, Camp Heart was closed. That was only 79 years ago. Think about it.

@fugitive247 Not that long ago there used to be a show on PBS called Victory Garden.
We have always gardened and shared with neighbors. We gave veg, we got eggs, salmon, preserves, a plate of food. Once got a case of apples, the neighbors got pies.
Our new neighbors all have 1/4 acre lots and no one plants anything. If things go south, we are putting a lock on our gate.
