Looking forward to the arrival of an early birthday gift to myself. First project, a basic lap loom made from a recycled wood picture frame, is ready to happen. Been fighting impatience; at only 8mm apart, hammering brads into the frame would likely split the wood. Why manual drilling? Focus, plain and simple.

Okay, 15 & 23 are both out for the night. Cat is fed and napping. Got plenty of SF beverages, and a variety of NatGeo/Nova/History Channel episodes to enjoy. It's time for the measuring and drilling to begin! 😀

So far, so good. The pen drill worked well for setting the pegs. Hardest part of making this basic lap loom was measuring the spacing in bad lighting. Even with a neck lamp the counts on top and bottom were mismatched. Was able to make a 1cm wide band to fasten around the frame which was slid to mark both top & bottom peg locations in pairs, thus ending the one-off counts.
