It as 8 years ago tonight that I worked my last shift as a professional firefighter. My retirement didn’t officially start until Sept 1st but this night was the last time I was on duty and part of a crew

This is me around sunset on my last day. My last call was just a little while before this. My friend captured this after I shut the truck down and climbed down out of it.

I would do it all again if I were younger. I absolutely LOVED helping people
