The heat is going to be brutal tomorrow. While I am relieved that an increasing number of local places will be hosting cooling stations, I am concerned for our recovery folks who may be struggling.

My youngest is coming with me when I take 22 to work early. Since I'm a long-time member of the area's sole 12-step hall, I'll be keeping the place open after the morning meeting at least until other trusted servants can help cover until the evening meeting begins. Self-will? YES. Screw the BS.

Ugh. Sometimes, having a conscience can be a total pain in the butt. It's short notice, but keeping the hall open does need to be approved by the board. Not terribly concerned, though. All this should require is for one board member to okay premises use for temporary emergency today and tomorrow. If not, I still have zero issue putting my ass on the line if it means giving others a safe alternative to seeking shelter in a bar.

Wish I could help, homie. I haven't set up a room in what feels like too long. πŸ’œβœŒοΈ

Thanks, bro. If you were local I know you would. The hall itself doesn't need setting up, per se. The heat advisory for my area runs from noon - 8pm today and tomorrow. Meeting times won't be an issue; it's the period between meetings when the premises still need to be accessible. Either way, I HAVE A KEY. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘
