“The fact check revealed that a PDF search of the book contained 10 references to “couch” or “couches,” but none implied any sexual activity with the furniture. Furthermore, the AP confirmed that the words “sofa” and “glove” do not appear anywhere in the book.”

Truth ISN’T why it went viral, it went viral because everyone could see Vance as a “couch fucker”—that’s what makes it funny.

Vance is boring. So bad that someone suggested “JD” stands for “Just Dull”.

Humor is not always about truth (although the best jokes tend to have a LITTLE bit of truth).

It’s about exaggeration, about throwing contrast on varying shades of gray, it’s about expectations—it’s where changes one word or word order can mean “funny” or “so close”.

Vance is an easy target because he has contradicted himself so many times it is impossible to know what is true and what is false.

Is he a sofa fucker? Might be, look at all the verbiage being written saying he isn’t!

Let’s face it, it’s funny EVEN IF it’s bogus. Humor can’t be fact checked. It’s dumb to even try. All AP did was make the joke funnier.

Me? It’s patently false.

Or is it?

😳

@feloneouscat It’s a lot funnier than admitting to shooting your puppy in the face.
