This is a perennial favorite of Texans who don’t understand the Constitution — there is no process for secession. None. Nada.
“The legality of seceding is problematic,” Eric McDaniel, associate professor of government at the University of Texas at Austin, told The Texas Tribune in 2016. “The Civil War played a very big role in establishing the power of the federal government and cementing that the federal government has the final say in these issues.”
Worse, Texas CAN NOT EXIST without the Federal Government. ONE THIRD of Texas’ budget are federal dollars. The myth that Texas sends more money TO the Feds is a myth. California actually could make it as a country. Texas could not.
Texans would suffer if Texas seceded. The only people who MIGHT make out would be the rich. The Battle of the Alamo was not because “freedom”, it’s because a bunch of
rich pricks hates the government.
@feloneouscat
Yeah, I believe CA has the worlds 3rd largest economy.
I have read that about states not being able to secede. But something has to give somewhere.
Our government spends all its time fighting amoung each othere. Worse yet, a POS like trump can run for president again and be elected again. So what do we do? Vote does not make a difference. Thiere is constant bickering between Dems and Repubs. Who loses? The American people. The entire government is FUBAR🤷♀️
