We should start a hashtag trend so we can concentrate names of our favorite stars and so we can follow any famous people we know of who are here.
Idk??? Something like
#CelebsOnCoSo #CoSoStarPower
Etcetera ...
Let's be honest, most of us like to know the thoughts and opinions of the people whom we idolize. (If that's PC kosh)
@fatslothslim i don't idolize stars/celebrities. why would i? they're just people
@redenigma
Fair. I couldn't think of a better word and I knew some might have these exact thoughts. But it was just you.
As number 6 of 7 kids I found friends and family on tv and in the movies..
#Forgotten
@fatslothslim my partner is the youngest of 8. he tends to watch more streaming than i do (which isn't hard because i don't, at all). but i'd guess that's more because i just don't care about tv/movies/pop culture. it's likely partly an autistic thing & partly not having time for passively being entertained because i'd rather read... we had a tv in the mid-50s which was somewhat rare, & the only part i found interesting was the tubes & wires... :)
@fatslothslim i do have a weird habit (for lack of a better word this early) of meeting celebrities of certain types, musicians, artists, writers, a couple actors. they really are just people
@redenigma
That's interesting!
Please tell me more.
@fatslothslim what, of meeting people? i used to hang out with a couple bluegrass buskers on Boston Common, so i met several musicians that way. had lunch with Doc Watson and met Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs (separately, it was after Foggy Mtn Boys broke up). i know, & am friends with, several comic artists/writers. (that's from taking 25 pound bags of cookies to comic cons. lol.). i worked on a low budget movie that had Cameron Mitchell as the star. he was creepy
@redenigma Yeah thats so interesting. I would have loved to see the foggy mountain live. I watch youtube with Scruggs.
I love the banjo and Steve Martin has put together an band.
I've only met a couple famous people. Working the Seattle hempfest, I met Woody Harlson.
I also met A sound Effects artist, Wes Harrison. That man intrigued me.
@fatslothslim my grandma played banjo. her family(brothers/sisters) had a band in the early 1900s that played around western PA/NY at weddings & barn dances, etc. mostly bluegrass & square dance
@redenigma
Would have been nice for you to have it today huh?
@redenigma
I always wanted to try but never have.
I'm a drummer.
@fatslothslim i have 2 bodhrans & a American Plains style drum (which is good for sorting wheat from chaff actually). i'm not very good at drumming, but i suspect it's mostly lack of practice.
a LOT of guitarists start with drums, you know...
@redenigma
I did not know that.
@fatslothslim yes. Grandma died 2 months after her 102nd birthday.
i play guitar, so i think i could pick up banjo pretty easily
