Have you ever began to read a book which gets great reviews and you get to a part of the book which you begin to hate the characters youโ€™re supposed to love?

I just got there.

But Iโ€™ll probably finish the book getting angrier, page by page.

Oh, Iโ€™ll let you know after I finish the book, because thereโ€™s a very slight chance it might get better ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜

@evamarie

Yup, that one's happened a few times. I finished the books anyway, but it ended up being a bit of a slog.

@evamarie
Yep. I'll stop if it's early. If I 'm near the end, I root for their comeuppance.

@evamarie
Half-way through--bugger. too far in to quit, not far enough to just read the end.

Yes, rage reading. Because some strange impulse compels me to finish any book I start, even if I have to hurl it off a high cliff when Iโ€™ve finished.

@evamarie One of those train wreck books that turns you off but you can't look away?

@evamarie Yup. An everybody loved it book, and I'm going this book isn't great. In my case Hero was mad at the Heroine, he said he was going to pick her up at the airport, left her at the airport. Like WTF dude you suck.

@evamarie lt's only in the last few years that l realized l don't need to finish a book l'm not enjoying.
( l'm 67 now, learned to read at 7-8 yrs old, so only took about 55 -58 years or so to realize this)
If you don't enjoy it, you don't have to finish it
Life is too short!

@evamarie

๐Ÿ˜‚ I only laugh because I can relate about getting more annoyed as it goes on but gotta finish.
