Part of a 5 million square foot museum in Giza, Egypt has opened and will house over 700,000 years of Egyptian history:
It looks like an amazing museum, even if it’s only partially opened. Can you imagine seeing these incredible monuments with the pyramids of Giza in the background?
@evamarie it would be breath-taking :D
Hopefully, the true history will be presented and the pieces held in British museums returned.
I think museums throughout the world have priceless Egyptian artifacts, including the Metropolitan Museum which has smaller pyramids on top of priceless jewelry.
I wish I knew more about Egyptian history. This museum looks like a bucket list destination 😁
You are correct. There are many museums round the globe that have looted & stolen priceless artifacts. A number of them are located in NYC.
Egyptian civilization was heavily influenced and produced by the inhabitants of Nubia and Southern areas of Africa. In fact, the earliest/first pyramids were constructed in Nubia prior to the Great Pyramids (last of the 7 ancient wonders of the world).
You should add that to your list of destinations and make sure you take a friend.🙂
@evamarie amazing :) wouldn't it be a life event to visit and tour 💚
