My mom loved Simon and Garfunkel. The closet my dad got to liking popular music was The Carpenters, I kid you not. 😁
Karen's story is so sad ... and a lot of folks forgot she was a pretty good drummer (who played bass occasionally); my landlord's wife, for example, never knew Karen to be anything but a singer, which is what many listeners thought - but she was a lot more than that.
@XaoslordErie She was a bloody marvelous drummer!
Slightly unrelated from the original post, but I have to share this - Chloe is a friend of mine who tours as a Karen Carpenter tribute
Nice, mate - I didn't know about your friend! Pretty darn cool!
@evamarie Awww, that's high praise. I'll be sure to pass it on ❤️
Indeed, she's very good - and that's a 1970 song she made sound fairly new, too. She made it hers, which is important, but didn't lose the feel of the original.
@BillyBones
Oh wow! SHE IS AWESOME! I just got all the chill bumps/feels!! 🥰🎶
@KittsMotto She is, and to top it all, plays piano, guitar, drums AND is absolutely hilarious (she writes and posts short comedy videos as Adele, Stevie Nicks and others in every day situations).
Here's another from her Tribute, she toured the US again earlier this year
@evamarie
One of my mom's favourite songs.
