@th3j35t3r I know that when my folks went through the 5-year citizenship process in 1953, they learned so much of civics and American history that they knew more of how the US worked than people born here.
You're not "out there" with the points you're making.
My mom did, too. She passed her nursing boards when we first moved here, no small feat learning all that anatomy, physiology and pharmacology in English, and went through the citizenship process just like your folks.
