@IslandNewsService I went to a lot of those hotels in the 60s. I mostly was too young for the performers, but I remember the ambiance.
My sister lived in Monticello for 20 years though, so this will bring back a lot of memories for her.
@estherschindler You brought back a lot of memories. I was 18 in '73 and into the music of the day but I had grown up seeing these cats on TV.... Ellington, Jerry Vail, etc. The venues in the Catskills were much more intimate than shows today. Smaller rooms just somehow had a way of feeling more connected to the Artists. I'm going to have to check out the museum when it opens.
