When my mother was a young child, the family had a next-door neighbor they didn't like.
So when they got a dog, they gave the dog the neighbor's name.
That let my grandfather shout, "Finkelstein! Stop shitting on the lawn!"
I gather that the neighbor moved away not too long afterwards, though I doubt that was the primary reason.
