I agree. Brainstorming was never anything but"group hug" theatrics.
@estherschindler Ok, this article was not written by a social or industrial psychologist. A lot of the psychological concepts are nominally called forward but are not well connected to one another to produce the deepest understanding of the dynamics - both good & bad - in brainstorming. One concept entirely missing is synergy - you can get great ideas working alone but you’ll never achieve group synergy. So: don’t abandon brainstorming - set it up to attenuate dis-senergy & facilitate synergy!

The right people have to be in charge, and it has to be properly guided.
