Here's how the explosive rise of Zoom is creating big opportunities for startups, which are raising millions to build apps and integrations

Is Zoom a big enough platform to support an entire app ecosystem? Sure, say investors, analysts, and startup company execs. But within limits.

@estherschindler Good question.

There's also a longevity factor. I do 95% of my work on Zoom now, but that will fall considerably in the coming months. I know some places are planning on remaining at least partially wfh, but will it be enough to sustain massive investment/development? I'll be curious to see.

@misslovelymess Lots of businesses are staying remote, at least 2-3 days a week. And I believe many biz meetings may remain that way for a while given reluctance to travel.

Also, some of these tools really extend what Zoom can do. (MmmHmmm is TRULY cool.)

@estherschindler I've been told we are using a different platform for a large conference we are hosting. I don't know what the platform is yet, and I don't know what the functionalities are, but I'm curious.

I will check out MmmHmmm. I currently don't use any add ons to zoom, but I could use some.

@misslovelymess Conference platforms are a different thing entirely. Different needs, eg. signups and breakout rooms.

A friend of mine has been specializing in evaluating those.
