@erose We once encountered one of them at a high end pet store. In 1987 it cost $25,000. It was such an awesome "person." Very much like this bird. I wanted to take it home!

Also as noted from thread: these birds commonly live 30-50 years. Ahd they bond to humans, usually(?) just to one. So they are a serious life commitment of responsibility, because in grief, they can become self abusive, aggressive, very unhappy.
