I re-read my 1980s copy of _Agent of Byzantium _ by Harry Turtledove... because I love alternate history novels and surely it'd be a good escape from THIS world for a bit. Which it was... but I had forgotten the entire story about the smallpox epidemic. Still, it's good storytelling! #cosobookclub
