In general, it's a good idea to assume that any significant, important, mind-blowing information that you've just learned and really want to pass on to your buds is probably wrong.

It's always a good idea to (a) check where this amazing info came from and (b) try to find a completely *different* source (not just one with a different name, but one that has independent witnesses or evidence) that describes the same thing. Then (c) make sure that they are actually in agreement.

2010-2015 were the last years that felt normal to me. Everything after that has felt like one long never ending nightmare.

We're not thought to remember what happened at the beginning of a story, so it's necessary to explain it all in the middle and the end.

The same thing happens with real world events; no sooner has one important thing happened than another comes up and drives the first from our memories.

The result is that it becomes impossible to construct any but the most flimsy narratives or see connections between events. We are all focused on the temporary.

If Democrats don't take the house in November midterms, what is the plan? People move closer to cities? Smart people leave? Or do we wait it out for Gen Z to catch up and vote?

Imagine being so apathetic that you care more about guns than you do about the children who were murdered in cold blood.

The NRA and everybody that's on their payroll are heartless monsters.

Hey Ted Cruz, if you think an unlocked door is bad, wait until an unlocked desk drawer with a gun in it is in every school in Texas. I mean, the classroom door will be locked, so it'll just be those kids. It could be worse, right?

Republicans hate politicizing mass shootings because it detracts from monetizing them.

WAIT WAIT WAIT.

That piece of shit was engaged by police *before* he even got to the elementary school and he *still* entered the school and killed children??

“Good guy with a gun,” what-the-fuck-ever, you fucking fucks. Holy shit, when will you admit your gun fetish is more important to you than your children?

Goddammit - vote for pro gun control politicians. By all means necessary.

Oh my goodness! My first block. She was a Crypto Trader. No offense to anyone, but just not my thing.

Time to take the dog out and clean up the teenage mess in my kitchen from last night. Keeps me active and healthy. Have a wonderful day!

Our dog was terrified and had a nightmare last night. She was whistling really loudly. She's part beagle and lab. She came from Hurricane Ida and was treated for heartworms in St. Louis before we adopted her a couple months ago. It rained last night. I guess I will be googling dog nightmares today.

"Under the Banner of Heaven" and "Candy" on Hulu kept me entertained this weekend. They depicted the 80's well.

Reading this morning about "Groypers," AKA White nationalists and Fundamentalists. Is it just me or do you think of the word "Groper" when you see that? I honestly didn't know what a Groyper was.
