Voicemail is a tool that dumps labor onto the recipient, especially when you're calling a business or organization after hours. They may have to replay it multiple times to write down the who, what, when, etc., with no guarantee of a correct transcription. Big time suck. I'll guess at someone's name phonetically and then find out how wrong I was. Please, folks, if it is possible, call during open hours when you can talk to someone. Or, even better, use email.

I'm not picking on voicemail between friends & family. My gripe is with using it on the job. Let's hear from those who have to deal with voicemail (VM) at work.
