Well, with this price increase, removal of the color I wanted, and the fact that this price increase means it won't qualify for the tax credit (so it will be ~$16,000 more than expected) bye Lightning.

My wife slightly preferred the Lightning. And the pricing of the Pro trim made it VERY attractive. Even with the new more expensive pricing, if it was possible for "civilians" to buy the Pro with Extended Range battery, we probably still would.

But an XLT+ER is more than Rivian.

And the XLT just isn't worth more than a Rivian. Pre-price-increase, we had decided on a Lariat Extended Range. It was basically the same price as our Rivian configuration, so it was really going to come down to towing range+comfort. Ford could have won us over there.

But now? Lariat ER with options we'd pick, taking lack of tax credit into account, would cost more than $15,000 more than the Rivian R1T we have on its way.

Yes, Rivian increased their prices, too. But preorder holders got locked in at old prices.
