One problem with being "the operations guy" at a startup, when everyone is now working from home...
Can't really take a sick day.
Woke up feeling lousy, checked my calendar "oh, look, four "IMPORTANT!" meetings got scheduled overnight." Then an email "QUICK! DO THIS THING RIGHT NOW!" from VP of engineering, and "hey, can you jump on a call real quick to discuss <important customer>" from VP of sales.
Okay, time to down half a bottle of Day-Quil and get to work.
@sjvn Oh yeah, if I'm really sick, I'll take it off. It's just those borderline cases like today. "I wouldn't go in to the office if that were a thing; but dammit, I can't really justify NOT working from home..."
Plus, startup. If I don't get this done, we'll have issues.
@ehurtley Been there, done that, but there are times you just have to say I really am sick today and I can't do it. Take care & I hope you feel better soon.
