Interesting
"I can’t help but acknowledge that the only thing that was accomplished by resisting Trump was less understanding and more division among Americans"

And this part 😬 once you read the context *yikes*
"Not only did I suddenly see the flawed thinking of some on the left, I also witnessed their cruelty and hypocrisy in real time"
@ecksmc That's why I don't lump voters who put a given party or group in power together with that party/group as a monolith.
I treat them as separate entities - the people who voted the Trumpublicans in aren't the same as Trump or his circle of cronies; the voters are not a monolith, & most of them are just uninformed/misled rubes... not the enemy, just "useful idiots".
Trump, his circle of cronies, & politicians/other authority figures who align with him, on the other hand, *are* the enemy.
@ecksmc I also don't align with mainstream "left" or "right" movements, because my own views are syncretic - specifically built with internal consistency in mind, unlike however the fuck
the mainstream left and right pick their schizophrenic blends of self-contradictory views.
The root of the problem here is that two-party systems are intrinsically problematic - certain kinds of perturbations can cause a polarization death spiral, and that's exactly what we're seeing happen before our eyes.
its not until older they look at policies and usually that's when most change from voting one party to another - people change and peoples thinking changes - unfortunately most politicians bullshit their way to getting votes
Politicians need to be held more accountable for the bullshit lies they say what other job can you get away with bullshitting so much? Kinda why the world is so fuck't up politically
