Google Chrome starts killing ad blockers
https://mashable.com/article/google-chrome-kills-ad-blockers
They aren't "killing" ad blockers they are limiting them in what they can do compared to what they could do which may result in some adverts showing
Like I said before you can still use ad blocking extensions and with a DNS ad/tracking blocker service that you input a URL into chrome privacy & security > use secure DNS < you'll probably not notice any difference
Sidenote:
If you are looking to use another browser other than chrome I'd suggest Cromite which is chromium based with loadsa GitHub tracker/ad blockers "pre-installed" in settings for you to toggles on

It by far the best of the chromium browsers out there for android anyway imo
Side - sidenote
I'd recommend using Obtainium for updates - once you have Obtainium that will monitor all APK source URLs for future updates - the URL where you manually download the APK from you use that URL and add it in Obtainium

you'll need AppVerifier installed which works side by side with Obtainium - AppVerifier will check the APK certificate hash for newly installed apps you do
