@Alfred which do you think is better countersocial etiquette; quietly muting people I follow here because they discuss subjects I'm trying to filter out, so I can unmute them later; or unfollowing them temporarily, which they might notice and take offense, but at least they can still talk to me about other topics?

Follow

@Pungent

if they are users you follow and who follow you using "soft" mute is a good option - you don't need to be a follower or following for "soft" mute to work either

That way they are muted but can still show up in your own notifications if they reply to one of your posts - 👍

@ecksmc

Thank you, that is exactly what I want.

I'm sure my own track record isn't spotless, but I would like to hide their venting from my timeline, but I still want to see if they post pictures of their hashtag garden / pets / ramen / crochet / gaming / baby chicks

@Pungent 👍

Yeah a mute is good cause you'll still see their posts via profile page - and soft mute still allows you to be in a convo with them since their posts will show in notifications column - while keeping your friends & firehouse free from posts

😉

And we ain't everyone's cupa tea that's just life 😆

@ecksmc

I like to think I'm self aware enough to know when I'm running low on spoons.

I like a lot of weird teas, but I gotta be in the right mood first... and I take a while to percolate. 🍵🤔
