Journalists should just stop with using X as a place to find anything
I mean, you never see them using 4chan or gab or truth social or mastodon as a place to find things to report about right? Cause they are unreliable
Its not rocket science now....the news sites would be a better place if every other article didn't have a reference to fuckin twitter
@GreenCheese still a lot of good stuff on reddit and good moderators who get rid of that nonsense from subreddits
Twitter though the good stuff is less and less every week as folk post less and less or just leave
Every time I think about this it irks me. The free press supporting and helping to build a far right propaganda machine. The irony.
I think a lot of the climate scientists have finally moved (to threads) but sheesh that took a while too.
@peeppeepcircus from one shit show to another
Threads is just as bad as twitter for misinfo on stuff same as mastodon
@ecksmc Ikr 😞
Don’t follow the journalists and scientists - that’s literally where we are at with social media.
P.s. I meant the scientists went to bluesky, not threads, but same show.
@peeppeepcircus yeah that's getting just as bad not same level but it's getting there every since they "opened doors" without invite few weeks back
@ecksmc Tldr : Stop making stupid people famous.
I don't bother to read anything anymore other then official documents. This makes me boring I'm sure. But I don't think that what someone says on the internet should have ever been news and I'm damn sure that it's not important even if it is news. I've always been a fan of independent media but it's still media. Best way to be informed is to read actual things. Click bait is easier, but your paying for the convenience.
@vo1de yeah first time I saw bbc news live quoting a tweet I said "there goes twitter it's over" granted it took longer than I thought lol
Within days every other news report was doing it along with their @ names and politicians then all pilled on.......gave twitter far to much "street cred" now we are witnessing the aftermath
@ecksmc I wish I could remember who did it first, I think it was wapo but I'm not sure. All I know is that the people have been constantly scared and enraged ever since.
@vo1de it's not as bad now with live news TV channels though
But still online media websites its every other article you read X gets a mention and only now its pointing out something negative they mention more and more.....so really don't see why they should be doing it
@ecksmc corps pay them. It sucks for humanity but it's big business for business.the orange Rumple person was originally a media guy. He owned Univision. No idea if he still does, but the old saying whoever owns the information owns the people, yeah. Bezos owned wapo when this all started becoming the new norm. It's usually all about money damn the concequences. Billionaires suck.
@ecksmc
Also now I notice Reddit is full of Putin mouths. The whole thing is a fun house mirror
