this is genius
Hiding your crypto wallet keys in a VHS copy of The Wizard of Oz or a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64
The method is explained in a video by Adam Clegg
create a QR code for the crypto key, then use an S-VHS recorder to insert it into a The Wizard of Oz tape. Play the tape, reach the part where the QR code will appear on screen, scan it with your phone and there’s the password
…genius.
it's a fun way to store your keys is it secure 🤔
well someone could just steal the VHS tape and the N64 and copy of perfect dark
so, fun yeah and genius but not secure
@ecksmc I believe the solution to this problem is called steganography, combined with encryption.
Instead of putting a QR code on the tape, hide the key in encrypted form inside the video on the VHS or perhaps some of the image data on the N64 cartridge.
@IrelandTorin it's a problem that shouldn't be a problem though
more a fun novelty thing to do than anything
but yeah if you wanted to make sure it was secure you probably could
@ecksmc
and hope family members don't donate it to GoodWill or something 😅
@Faay @IrelandTorin 🤣🤣 yeah that is more likely to happen over a theft
forgot the URL
