Android the new settings will only be on devices running android 14

considering Android OS updates that's deffo not enough by google

n January 2023, version 12 of Google's Android mobile operating system version had a share of around 25 percent amongst all mobile Android devices worldwide. Version 11 ranked second with over 23 percent, while the more recent version 13 had a share of only 12 percent. By July 2023, Android 13's market share stood at over 30 percent, overtaking those of Android 12

Android 14 users won't get it till the manufacturer passes it on to the network provider who then pushes it out to them < 2yr wait

only Pixel users will benefit from the new settings

Android OS updates work like this:

if you have a pixel you get the OS update direct from google

other models - if you have a contract with a network provider and are paying of the device the OS gets sent to the manufacturer then your network provider then you get it < that takes around 2yrs after rollout from google

if you purchase your handset and get a sim-only contract(or pay as go sim)the OS comes to you via manufacturer << 1+yr wait after rollout from google

(UK and EU might vary on where you are in the world)

that's why Android 13 saw an increase this year Android 13 roll out was August 15, 2022

that and the fact after a few years of having a device you stop getting OS updates all together
