don't know about others but i always read app permissions before installing anything via Google Play store
then after i always read the app manifests using FX-File explorer
via the "apps" section in FX > pick the app > three dot menu top right > view manifest
two permissions to watch out for are
risky permissions > access to the user's contact list (READ_CONTACTS) and precise location data (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)
most apps don't need them
@stueytheround it is a lil easier now to control what apps use certain permissions since Android 10
allow - only when using app - deny
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permission and the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permission are also worth checking for
although
"trackers can use other technologies and techniques to reveal your device location, whether or not location services are turned on"
https://www.makeuseof.com/phone-tracked-location-services-switched-off/
@stueytheround kinda why i prefer headphone with a wire lol
Headphones with internal storage is also a way to go or IF Infrared frequency headphones
Infrared also boasts a higher sound quality than both RF and Bluetooth headphones and does not experience any interference or static during use.
hate having Bluetooth on for long especally when out and about
@ecksmc Yep. Google maps is "only when using app".
Interesting little titbit that you can still be tracked though.
