Facebook is trying to make its own version of twitter called threads.
I don't see it going anywhere, and even so, I'm perfectly happy here where I won't be monitized for all my worth.
it is a real possibility that it might actually thrive as they have decided to join the fediverse it won't be a standalone platform if they do

which they didn't mention in that article - if they decide to make it a standalone platform it will probably fail
@ecksmc Oh heavens. So it's more that they're going to absorb Mastodon than go it alone.
