Finally the bumble bees and honey bees have shown up on our redbud blooms. I had been concerned. Do your thang bees! We need you!!

@CherNohio @dvalinsworkshop All due respect, one wonders what 24 hours worth of notice will effectively do. We cannot move our hives out of the toxic drift from those chemicals. Life has improved dramatically through chemistry. Our abuse of its gifts will damn us to its perversions if we do not find a way to balance it with Mother Nature, pdq.

Exactly. I read some about preparations having addition screen boards for moving and closing up the hives with proper ventilation material. I don't know enough about it to properly respond. But yes, it's not adequate enough I would presume. 😩
@CherNohio @dvalinsworkshop The truly sad part is that the toxin often gets into the plant DNA, thereby, into the soil, and so, into the honeybee, into the honey and into us. Since it is in the soil, next year's crop may retain residue. I live on gamely despite this knowledge. I may go down glowing and green but I shall damn sure go down swinging.

We are of the same mindset! I do what I can to choose food sources from local organic growers and seek raw honey from those who use the best practices in place. It's all we can do.

@dvalinsworkshop There are quite a few around me and some substantial farms which have them. The state beekeepers association works closely with a major state university to educate & provide resources for safeguarding them against pesticides. Law requires a 24 hr notice from farmers before toxic chemical spray. Important for longevity. Without bees, food supply is in big doo doo!
