Just a momentary thought. In esse the US has already had a female president, that being Edith Wilson the second wife of Woodrow Wilson. When President Wilson fell severely ill from stroke and could not function anymore she secretly took over. As the White House says

The Reagan presidency was horribly, unbelievably, catastrophically bad - resulting in the implementation and popularization of many of the worst policies and ideas to see the light of day in the US in recent decades - and its legacy, both ideological and practical, haunts and harms us in practically uncountable ways to this day.
