@dauphin87 It's really cruel to expect people who are increasingly unwanted in the workplace to continue to work into their senior years. I read too many comments about "We don't want to hire anyone under 40."

@dauphin87 We also shouldn't still be working the 40 hour work week by now. Gains in productivity since it was instituted in 1938 have been ignored, all going to owners.

@dauphin87 I could see raising it for those in their 40s or less. Someone has to do the hard task of raising the income cap and maybe the actual rate if we want it to continue. I’d be fine with .5 % increase. Those making more than 160k might not like seeing their income taxed for SS and Medicare. But if they all chipped in it would benefit them too in the long run.
