I wonder if there's a term for being apprehensive when asking a question for fear of receiving bad news.
@dauphin87 In government work, two common warnings when dealing with the AG and legislature were, don’t ask the question if you don’t want to know the answer, and don’t ask the question unless you’re prepared to deal with the answer. In court, it’s don’t ask the question unless you already know the answer.
