Not one soul in this town can spell worth a damn. Also, not one soul in this town knows the difference between your and you're.
@singlemaltgirl I hated learning grammar in school. I learned just enough to get a feeling when I'm doing something wrong without always knowing exactly what I'm doing wrong. I should have paid closer attention!
@dauphin87 nah. i think if you know there's something wrong & you know how to fix it, that's enough. i mean, you can google everything else if you really need to, no?
& i didn't even have google back in the day.
i also feel that writing is so much more conversational now that when i learned. & i prefer conversational that stiff, formal, grammatically correct prose.
we're not jane austen, after all.
& shakespeare never gave a fig about grammar. read his plays!!!
@dauphin87 Oh dear. Can you leave? Because if you are able, my advice is to definitely leave and start again in a place with a modicum of literacy.
@dauphin87 The one failure in grammar/punctuation that is prevalent online (and off) is the apostrophe used for plurals.
Drives. Me. Crazy.
@kismatt Yes!
@dauphin87 sometimes it seems like i don't know the diff b/c i don't proof what i post. but i do! i promise!
