Last night I deliberately landed on Fox news and watched for about ten minutes of the Laura Ingraham show being guest hosted by some clown I've never heard of. I'm asking myself if I'm so shocked by what I'm hearing because I live in my own media bubble and not the Fox one. I still don't see it. Still seems like a bunch of disinformation nonsense being put out to deliberately stir up their right wing audience and truth be damned.
@ChippySuave It's really insane and half of the town where I live eats it up daily.
Aaaaahhhh-yup.
Itβs all about the eyeballs they get, which translate to advertising dollars.
Truth be damned, sensibilities be damned, righteousness be damned. Itβs the dollars.
@dauphin87 I can't even watch 1 minute of it.
@dauphin87 It's not about what they say on those shows.
It's about the emotions they evoke in the people listening.
I try to explain to people it's not a reasonable debate you're fighting, but an emotional one.
Anger is addicting. The words mean far less than the emotional strings they pull. As long as some of the words can justify the belief, it doesn't matter how unreasonable it seems, because reason has nothing to do with it.
@dauphin87 I put Fox on every once in a while to hear their spin on major news events and am continually (and naively) shocked at how they just straight up lie and that their audience believes it no matter how outrageous.
