Spent several hours digging a drainage ditch today to divert downspout rain water away from the house. Now that's good exercise. At least the upper body is still working good!
@dauphin87 Good job! I need one of those. My retaining wall is eroding from runoff and relocating downspouts wonβt fix it. I need to extend about 15β. Did you do a French drain or ?
@BeccaL No, I connected a really long piece of pvc pipe that had lying around and buried it in the trench so that it would drain about 20 feet from the corner of the house. The whole thing angles slightly downhill so it works perfectly now. All I had to buy was a flexible connector for the downspout.
@dauphin87 Thank you. I feel like thatβs all I need too. Iβve had a few contractors recommending all kinds of elaborate set ups and contraptions for thousands of dollars. One guy said it needs to be buried 6β deep due to frost. Yes, feet. And heβd do that, for $5k. Lol. No thanks!
