I cannot watch news any longer.
I cannot watch news because of the tightness in my chest, but b/c of my grandson.

I'm afraid of the words he'll hear.

I'm afraid of the way the idiot talks about other people. Decency be damned.

I'm afraid the idiot will perform fellatio on a mic again on tv.

I'm afraid of how the idiot will talk about women and minorities... behavior the munchkin has been taught is abhorrent.

I'm afraid he'll teach the munchkin how to be an unfeeling racist and misogynist.

@Maude 12 and I talk about hate and racism daily this last couple months. He is seeing it at school and hearing it in online gaming. I can't be prouder for his rejection of the language and attitudes.
I can't be sicker that he has to figure it out.

I'm hoping, if I do my job right, by the time he is 12, he'll be as strong as your son.

@Maude I have no doubt. He's my grandson We lost his mom a couple years ago to cancer.
His empathy has proven resilient.

@damselfly59 💔 When my son was about 10, he went to a physics summer camp that shared facilities at a college with a sports camp. He was shocked by the misogynistic jokes the sports kids were making.
