I voyeur-ed threads and this is my take:
It is every single annoying person you remember from high school, but now they've grown very bitter [or worse] from Twitter and they're ready to hang by a thread. Like they're putting their sanity on the line to be the kid with the loudest truck or newest MLM product or whatever.
Why are we (humans) so gross 😞 I want a shower.
@agitated_trash I posted my first and last post on that app last night, zero engagement when I woke up this morning, checked it about 10 minutes ago and the feed has drastically changed for me, plenty of random accounts blasting our random shit that I don't care to see. The app has been removed from my phone
I would have to mute every single poster in the algo-feed to enjoy that...arena and then, I would still not know anyone. I left Twitter in '12, left fb in '21, and wasn't on anything else. I don't get the appeal of being on an app / platform that feels like a mall food court. BUY THIS, MASSAGE THAT, EAT HERE, F*CK THAT/THEM/YOU etc is like the entire message. Blech.
@agitated_trash yeah I started muting accounts and I was like do I really want to be doing this on yet another social media app?
I haven't truly ever left any platform but I've been successful in greatly reduced my time on most social media platforms.
Honestly one of the best perks of Counter Social and Mastodon in general is the lack of manipulative feed algorithms that pick accounts out of nowhere designed to aggravate you.
