I've always loved conspiracies.
Back before there were search engines, I'd frequent weirdo bookshops and buy tons of breathless tomes, authored by fakes, liars, and also True Believers.
If there's a conspiracy originating before 2000, chances are I have at least one book on it.

@frankp For what it's worth, that HAARP thing is legit. As a young ham radio operator I participated briefly in the HF ionospheric experiments. They transmitted @ 7 mhz; we listened. I'm a nerd.

I'm doubtful about it being able to trigger 7.8 earthquakes, though...
