I know, I know, lucky am I. But really don't move to the Willamette Valley. Sure it is beautiful, with mild winters and mild summers. But the people are strange. They prefer light rain to sun, and might be friendly to visitors, yet hostile to your non-Oregon ways. Please do come visit, spend money, then go home.

@corlin That, plus we could be wiped out by a superquake or volcano at any time, and really, who wants to live under that constant threat?

If the Juan de Fuca Plate snaps all at once, we very well could see a 15 foot surge in the Columbia river and a 10 foot surge coming up the Willamette River. Also I live close to Mount Jefferson, no it is not active at the moment, but, could be on short notice.
